  • Always place baby on back to sleep to reduce to risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).Safe sleep tips for babies:
  • Always place baby in a crib, portable crib or play yard style crib that meets current safety standards for every sleep. Cover the mattress with only a tight-fitting crib sheet.

  • Never place anything soft, loose or fluffy in baby's sleep space.

  • Falling asleep with your baby on a bed, couch or armchair is dangerous.

  • Never place your baby to sleep on top of any soft surface.

  • Avoid overdressing your baby. Use other types of sleepers instead of blankets to keep baby warm and safe at nap time and nighttime.

  • Do not use positioners or wedges to prop your baby up or keep them on their back.

  • Offer baby a pacifier every time you place baby down to sleep. Pacifiers should only be offered to breastfed babies when nursing has been well established (which is usually around 3-4 weeks).

To support your efforts, we are providing you with this safe sleep for babies printable form.

We wish you and your baby beautiful beginnings!
